Pastor Phil Plotnek

Chaplaincy with
Ps Phil Plotnek

For many and varied reasons a student will experience hardships during adolescence. These can be life changing. Often they face circumstances out of their control or they are at the point of decision making. It is beneficial that students have a safe place to talk, to be heard, and not to be judged.

There is a great benefit for students who attend a Christian school. At Heatherton Christian College teachers genuinely care and offer support to students in many ways. However, their time is limited in this area. Hence, Heatherton made the decision to employ a part time chaplain who can dedicate time to the students for this purpose.

Ps Phil Plotnek is an endorsed minister with the Churches of Christ. He has been in pastoral ministry over many years and in several churches and organizations.

His role as chaplain includes:

· Pastoral care of students in primary and secondary

· Listening to students who are experiencing difficulties

· Praying with students

· Providing encouragement and hope

· Offering Biblical counseling and spiritual guidance

· Ministering to students who are hurting, depressed, or
         suffering with anxiety

· Ministering to students who are going through issues
that need pastoral care and support
