About
Grade 6, 2011 Mr Bunyon
The Grade 6 class is a fantastic bunch of students! They are eager to learn, cooperative,
creative, fun and encouraging towards each other. They enjoy reading a wide variety of genre and they are
active listeners to stories, particularly the class novel, ‘Holes’.
This term we have been learning about Earth and Space. The class has particularly enjoyed our
project work this term and there are some creative projects gracing our room at present. We particularly enjoyed
our excursion to Scienceworks and a great day was had by all.
The students’ spelling and general understanding of how our language works is improving weekly
as we use DIPL (Doorway into Practical Literacy) as a major tool for this skill development. Our Maths
understanding has been developing well this year and the students are very much enjoying our times-table
challenge.
Our curriculum is varied with a broad range of activities: Art, Music, French, Indonesian, PE,
Library, Buddies (we delight in spending time with our Prep Buddies) and District Sport where we get to play
against another school every Friday. We will also be beginning to use our new IPADS more regularly each term which
is going to be loads of fun!
We begin each day with an assembly time with the whole primary school and we enjoy this time
very much. It includes worship, quizzes or a short message and is a great way to focus our minds before the class
work begins.
