NAPLAN RESULTS 2011

Students are assessed using common national tests in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation) and Numeracy. NAPLAN tests broadly reflect aspects of literacy and numeracy common to curriculums in all States and Territories. The types of test formats and questions are chosen so that they are familiar to teachers and students across Australia.

Outstanding VCE results

Congratulations to our Class of 2010 for outstanding results in their VCE. We achieved a pass rate of 100%.

All of Heatherton Christian College students who applied for a university position have gained their first preference choice. A special mention to our top achieving academic student, Matthew Vanmidde, who gained an ATAR score of 96.85. Matthew has been accepted into Aerospace Engineering/Science (Double Degree) at Monash University. Matthew also achieved the highest score in Victoria for one of his subjects and has received an acknowledgment award for this special achievement.

Other students to gain university positions of choice include Elizabeth Cliffe (Science at Monash Uni), Sean Madler-Edwards (Digital Media at Swinburne Uni), Abigail Goff (Forensic Psychology/Arts at Swinburne - but has since changed this offer to Nursing instead!), and Ryan Alexis (Media at Monash Uni).

CURRICULUM DAY
(No School for all Students P-12)
Friday 24th February, 2012
To assist working parents we are offering a day program here at the school on Friday 24thFebruary from 8am-6pm. The program will be capped to 20 students and is only available for Prep-Grade 6 students. The supervised program will involve various craft and sporting activities. It is essential to book in for this program. The cost of the day program will be $30 per child. To receive a form to book in for the day program please contact the College office or email heather.harrison@hcc.vic.edu.au
